ADVICE

Practice advice and assistance on Lexcel, Specialist Quality Mark, Investors in People and ISO9000 has been delivered since 1992 but nowadays the focus is on Lexcel. This support also includes ensuring compliance with clients’ own protocols or service level agreements.  More recently support is being provided in relation to compliance with the requirements of the new SRA Code of Conduct and in particular Chapter 1 - Client Care and Chapter 7 - Management of your business.

Of course, the driver for everything within a law firm must be a well thought out strategy and business development plan and here support is provided to help partnerships gain a clear view of their market positioning in a changing and ever more competitive market place for legal services.  Strategically, the managers of law firms must address two critical issues: [1] How do we manage change in our firm effectively? and [2] How do we deal with the challenges coming with the Legal Services Act? Of course, planning is one thing, but where many firms need help is in the implementation of their plans - this is an area where Lawrisk is helping firms on a very practical level.

TRAINING

Lawrisk is an SRA accredited provider for CPD training. Damon is a regular presenter of the Law Society’s Management Course Stage 1 and Stage 2 and training is also provided, and available "in house" on a range of management topics such as:

  • Client Relationship Management
  • Business Development [Marketing & Selling]
  • Performance Appraisals

  • Quality Assurance and Internal Audits

AUDIT

Through experiences gained performing audits on behalf of professional indemnity and legal expenses insurers in law firms, internal audit services and training are offered to help firms ensure compliance with the relevant quality standards e.g. Lexcel and client/referrer protocols or service level agreements. Damon is now a Law Society accredited assessor for the Lexcel standard.
